What a great capture of the 1982 edition of ABC Wide World of Sports Superbikers race at Carlsbad Raceway. ABC’s Jim McKay is out front announcing before the start of the race with the grid behind him. Focusing before the start on the front row are Danny “Magoo” Chandler (34) and Ricky Graham (41), while 1981 Superbikers winner Steve Wise (1) is taking it all in. Farther back you can see Mike Baker (11), Bubba Shobert (67), Jay Springsteen (9) and Roberto Pietri (88). Chandler won the race over Wise and Springsteen. (Michael Pons photo)
