Two members of Kork Ballington’s crew signal him on his lead in the Daytona AMA 250 Grand Prix in 1987. Ballington, riding a MacLean Racing Honda, held off a young John Kocinski to win the Daytona 250 GP race by over eight seconds.

While Ballington won this round and one more at Brainerd, Minn., it was Kocinski would win five nationals in his first full season in the championship and go on to win the championship over Ballington and Donny Greene.
