Vernon Downs (N.Y.) was a cool place to watch an AMA Grand National. As this photo shows you could sit down and have dinner and drinks under roof while enjoying the racing. Unfortunately rain hampered the crowd at the 2008 event, the promoter lost big and the track was not on the schedule in 2009. Here’s to hoping the Grand Nationals can return to Vernon Downs someday.
