Andy Fenwick – Road Atlanta F-USA (1990)

Neenah, Wisconsin’s Andy Fenwick on the Human Race Team Yamaha Formula USA bike at Road Atlanta in August of 1990. Fenwick was a WERA National Champion, both as a sprint and endurance racer. Fenwick was one of the coolest riders in the paddock. I got a chance to spend some time hanging out with him between races at WERA HQ when it was in Hilton Head and we had a blast all week just wreaking havoc in the resort town. I was a pretty good bicyclist back in the day and of course Fenwick heard this and challenged me to a race on the beach with borrowed beach bikes. We laid out a track and I freely admit that Fenwick beat me that day, but for the record he had to cheat to do it as the tracks on the sand clearly showed that he cut the course.

Today Fenwick does the occasional bike test for Superbike Planet and runs a shop in his hometown. His shop’s website is here.
