Andy Stacy getting used to his new Maico at the Orlando Winter-Am during the pre-season of 1982. Andy earned the AMA 250 Motocross Rookie of the Year Award in ’81 riding for KTM and he got picked up by Maico to race the AMA 500cc Motocross Nationals in ’82. He was a consistent points paying finisher in the class in ’82, but Maico was falling behind the Japanese makers by this point and things really didn’t really begin to click for Andy until he switched to Husqvarna starting in ’83.
