Thad Wolff Earns Podium Finish in Imola Superbike Race (1982)

Thad Wolff leads Italy’s Angelo Laudati in the Superbike race, the support event for the Imola 200 in April of 1982. Thad was part of a contingent of AMA Superbike riders brought over for the event that included Roberto Pietri, Rich Chambers, Rusty Sharp and Jimmy Adamo. Pietri and Wolff did the AMA Superbike Series proud by finishing on the podium with Pietri winning and Wolff scoring third. Laudati, who is chasing Thad here, was a top-notch Italian Superbike racer. He went on to win the ’82 Italian Endurance Championship with Arturo Venanzi. (Henny Ray Abrams photo)
