Andrew Stroud (77) races the Britten V1000 ahead Battle of the Twins legend Jimmy Adamo (26) and his Ducati at the 1992 AMA Super Twins Series race at Laguna Seca Raceway in April of 1992. Stroud finally got comfortable racing the Britten on the challenging Laguna Seca circuit about halfway through this race. He said he discovered if he short shifted the powerful machine it handled more smoothly. Even short shifting Andrew said the Britten had so much power on tap he never once clicked into fifth gear the entire race. Stroud pulled away late in the race from Adamo to finish second (to the winning Ferracci Ducati of Pascal Picotte). Adamo spent the race babying his Ducati after he and his crew stayed up most of the night rebuilding a motor that had lunched the day before. Adamo finished on the podium in third.
