Steve Childress Winning Big at Loretta Lynn’s (1987)

West Virginia’s Stevie Childress kicking up some dirt on his way to winning the 250 B Stock class at Loretta Lynn’s in 1987. Stevie also won the 250 B Modified class as well that year to emerge as one of the elite pro prospects. It was even more so the next year when Stevie won the 250 A Stock class in a field that included riders like Jeff Emig, Damon Bradshaw. Tallon Vohland and Phil Lawrence, just to name a few! Steve raced pro for a few years in the early 1990s, and even scored a podium at the Pontiac Supercross before becoming a dentist. (Davey Coombs photo)
