Steve Hatch Takes Early Lead at Brownsville GNCC (1999)

A great GNCC action shot from Luzerne Park in Brownsville, Pennsylvania in May of 1999. It was Round 7 of the AMA Grand National Cross Country Series and the field is charging out of the first turn with Steve Hatch (2) nailing a great start on his Suzuki. Some of those in hot pursuit include Fred Andrews (3), Jim Jarrett (7) Paul Edmondson (5) and Rodney Smith (1) ducking his head under the pine. In the end it was Smith scoring the narrow victory over Hatch. Edmondson rounded out the top 3 making a Suzuki sweep of the podium finishers. (Davey Coombs photo)
