The talent was off the dial at the CMC/Skoal Bandit Golden State Nationals Round 3 at Sunrise Cycle Park in Adelanto, California in January of 1985. Just check out this shot. That’s Broc Glover (4B) with the 250cc Pro holeshot ahead of Jeff Ward (2), Johnny O’Mara (1) and Ron Lechien (6). Are you kidding me? Lechien won the overall with a 1-1 over Ward (2-2) and Glover (3-3). Amazing. (Kit Palmer photo)
