Another great image from the John Jacobson (Boston Cycles) Collection. This one is the starting grid for a heat race for the ’74 Loudon National. On the front row are Cliff Carr (No. 26 Suzuki), the factory Kawasakis of Hurley Wilvert (No. 39) and Art Baumann (No. 30), Steve McLaughlin (No. 83) and Yamaha’s Gene Romero (No. 3). On the second row are Jim Evans (No. 27), Jim Allen (No. 112), John Long (No. 104) and Paul Smart (No. 33). You can also just make out Marty Lunde (No. 56) and Dennis Varnes (No. 147).
