Did anyone here happen to attend what was called the International Supercross Series held in the Alamodome in September of 1996? This shot is Mike Brown (No. 9) leading the 125 class on his Honda of Troy Honda CR125. Brown went on to win the 125 class over Cory Keeney and Chad Pederson. Another Honda of Troy rider, Brian Swink won the 250 class ahead of Phil Lawrence and Kyle Lewis. A $60,000 purse from a Mexican-based sports promotion company attracted a talented field, but apparently only half of the Alamodome was used, and the track would be considered tight even by Arenacross standards. Only about 5000 fans showed up according to Chris Deutschen’s report in Cycle News. If you happened to attend the event let us know what you remember about it.
