Just came across and scanned these press kit photos of Yamaha factory rider Troy Blake. Hailing from Arizona, Troy was an exceptionally fast mini-cycle racer, catching Yamaha’s attention with his impressive speed and talent. Recognizing his potential, Yamaha signed him, and he made the leap to the pro ranks in 1982. While the transition to the big bikes presented new challenges, Troy still showcased impressive speed, earning a pair of top-10 finishes in the AMA 125cc Motocross Nationals during his rookie season. For whatever reason, he was off the pro circuit after a couple races in ’83.
