Holy Moly! How many racing lines do you count here at Louisville Downs during the 1970 AMA Grand National weekend? I think this is photo is from a regional race held the day after the Grand National. Riders are literally wide open, on the gas from rail to rail on the crushed limestone surface! That’s George Roeder (No. 3F) up front just ahead of Gary Nixon (No. 9).
