A classic capture from the lens of Gary Van Voorhis. “Mike Who?” read the t-shirt worn by New England standout road racer Rich Schlachter out Loudon in 1978. When you see the other side, the answer is revealed. That answer is fellow New England racer, Mike Baldwin, who would go on to win the AMA Formula One National Championship that year. Both Baldwin and Schlachter came through the ranks learning racecraft in AAMRR club road races. Schlachter would go on to win the AMA F1 championship the next season. (Gary Van Voorhis photos)
