Ricky Carmichael holds up the trophy after winning the AMA 125cc East Region Supercross race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in April of 1998. RC is joined on the podium by runner up Robbie Reynard (left) and Brock Sellards (right), who finished third. It was a special moment for Carmichael and the series, since it marked the first time a rider went undefeated in the 125 Supercross class. RC went on to win the 125cc East/West Shootout a few weeks later in Las Vegas to wrap up a perfect stadium campaign.
