Shae Bentley (No. 583) leads the pack coming out of the first corner at Kenworthy’s Motocross Park in Troy, Ohio at the start of one the motos during the AMA 125cc Motocross National in Troy, Ohio. Coming around on the inside line nearly even with Bentley is Casey Johnson (No. 20). Other riders in the shot (from l to r) include Casey Lytle (No. 33), Rusty Holland (No. 76), Nathan Ramsey (No. 35), Scott Sheak (No. 14), Jim Neese (No. 42), John Dowd (No. 9) and Brock Sellards (No. 36). Who you can’t see is No. 1 Ricky Carmichael, who would go on to win both motos that day. RC is tucked in behind Casey Johnson. Johnson would go on to an excellent overall podium in third. Mike Brown, also tucked in and not visible in this shot, took second overall. And look at the photographers up on the platform in the background. I think the one in the middle is the late great Steve “The Factory Spectator” Bruhn. TFS has an early Olympus digital camera in his hand.
