The ACS Siccardi Endurance Racer

Here’s a motorcycle you won’t see every day. It’s the ACS Siccardi taken at the Paris Motorcycle Show in the early 1980s. From what I could find on the bike, it was built in France to compete in the FIM Endurance World Championships. It was a 1000cc three-cylinder, featuring four-valves per cylinder. The maker claimed 150 horsepower, which would very likely make it the most powerful road racing machine of that era. Claimed top speed was 175 mph. The story is the project was scrapped when the FIM changed regulations to lower maximum capacity to 750cc. It would have been interesting to see the ACS on the track. Too bad it didn’t make it.
