Dick Klamfoth Loses Home in Fire

Thornville, Ohio (Dec. 20, 2014) – Saturday morning at 5:05 AM, the Licking County Fire Department responded to a fire at the house of Richard (Dick) and Beverly (Bev) Klamfoth. Due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area, the Licking County fire department was assisted by 12 other departments.  Around 25,000 gallons of water was reportedly used to put out the blaze.

Both Dick and Bev were transported to Licking Memorial Hospital, Dick was released from there and Bev was transferred to OSU for smoke inhalation.  Bev was released on Sunday from OSU and both are now staying with family until things get settled after the holidays.

Dick was a three time winner of the Daytona 200 and a member of the AMA Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame.  He was had 12 AMA national win’s and 1 international.  Dick has been inducted in most of the motorcycle hall of fames around the US and also into the Touchdown Club of Columbus.  Dick has been an avid supporter of the sport and attends the Daytona Bike Week / Race every year.  Dick has worked with the City of Daytona to put up a monument to honor those who won and raced on the beach.  More information can be found at http://daytona200monument.com/ for details about the monument.
