Hayden Schultz raced in his first AMA Pro Series race last year at Road America on his Harley-Davidson XR1200 just after turning 16-years-old. This year, Hayden brought his Yamaha R6 to Road America to race in his first-ever AMA Pro SuperSport race. He quickly got up to speed and qualified 12th in the 40-rider field. After a good start, Hayden slotted into 10th, but dropped to 13th by mid-race. With some strategic drafting, Hayden fought back to take 10th place by the end of the 10-lap race.
“This is my first SuperSport race, so I can’t complain. We had a good setup this morning in practice when it was a little cooler. The track didn’t have quite the same amount of grip for me during the race. I felt like I had more in me had I had a better setup for the heat. It was a little hard to turn in and it was pushing a little wide, but overall it was a good experience for my first SuperSport race, so I’m happy with that.” Hayden said.
Hayden is proud to receive support in AMA Pro SuperSport on his Yamaha R6 from RoadRace Factory, Hayden Schultz Racing, Arai, RaceworX, AXO, Racer Gloves, TCX Boots, Silkolene, Leatt, Speedmob, Moto Skiveez and Spy Optic.
