Jamie James (No. 58) leads John Eidenberger (No. 17), Scott Zampach (with the letter Z on his helmet) and Dave Barnard (No. 38) during a WERA B Production race at Grattan Raceway in August of 1986. It was this kind of race that showed everyone that James was something special. Riders like Eidenberger, Zampach and Barnard had Grattan wired from racing there so often, yet James was able to come up to the tight, technical track, take on the and beat the locals in Suzuki money races. Just three years later James would become AMA Superbike Champion.
