Of all the trick motorcycles raced in the AMA Battle of the Twins, perhaps the greatest of them all was the Britten. The late, great John Britten, of New Zealand, blew everyone away when he first brought the Britten V1000 to race in America in 1991. Paul Lewis finished second at the Daytona Pro Twins race in 1991 behind the Ferracci Ducati of Doug Polen. This is a photo of Andrew Stroud racing the bike in a WERA Formula USA race at Road Atlanta in May of 1992. In addition to being one of the trickest motorcycles of the era, it’s also an extremely rare machine with reportedly just 10 ever built.
