Atkinson is racing a Yamaha FZ750 and is leading David Probst (No. 615) riding a fairly rare Suzuki Katana 550, Mac Tillman (No. 101) on a Kawasaki KZ550 and Gary Jeffries (No. 396) on a Honda Interceptor. In the background are the huge gas storage tanks of Marathon Oil. Atkinson finished third in the B Superbike class that day.

Jim, I vividly remember that bike. I was a big Katana fan and you hardly ever saw 550s. I still remember the bold graphics on the bike. I loved it. I wish I could find a nice side shot of it.
