Pat Hernon, riding a Honda VF750, leads a group of riders into the International Horseshoe during the 1985 Daytona 200. That was the first year the 200 was a Superbike race. This must have been relatively early in the race since Hernon only completed eight laps in the 57 lap event. Just behind Hernon is Mike Harth. You can also see Rich Oliver (No. 5) in the background as well as Terry Hampton (behind Harth). Based on how out of focus the background is, the photo was probably taken with a big mirror lens making it nearly impossible to read bike numbers behind Hampton and Oliver. Freddie Spencer won the race on a Honda.
