I found these photos in a stack of old shots, but it had no ID on the back. I can tell that it’s Mid-Ohio, I’m guessing early 1990s.
I’m not quite sure, but it appears two riders crashed coming out of the final corner. They then picked up their bikes to push them to the finish line located parallel to the cones. It looks like when I got on the scene rider 311 had just pushed his bike across the line, his body draped over the bike in exhaustion.
Meanwhile rider 47 is pushing his bike as well. In the second photo 47 has just made it to the finish line.
In the final photo 47 falls to his knees, head down, perhaps exhausted and or distressed with the crash that happened just a few seconds earlier costing him a much better finish.
If anyone can ID these riders and shed more light on what these photos are showing it would be greatly appreciated.

I have Geep Terrnova using the #47 at Road America in 1993 if that helps
311 should be hard to identify

I see on track #26 & #27, Greg Esser & Jim Bonner respectively.
I think those photos might be older than you think, in the late 80’s-1990 possibly? That fairing on 84 looks like one typical of steel framed 250’s. Long gone off the grids by 1990.
From my archives fills in a few data points…
Brainerd & Loudon 1989 #84=Kiyoshige Watanabe
Mid-ohio 1989 #47=Donn Lewis
Mid-Ohio 1992 #47=Chuck Sorensen

Thanks much for that. I don’t think #84 was part of that race. Could be a vintage bike still there from a previous race. So #47 in probably Lewis. I wonder who #311 might be? Probably a Canadian.

if we go back to 1989 I’ve got a program from Topeka showing Donn Lewis as #47

OK figured it out.
It was the 1987 Mid-Ohio AMA 250GP. Alan Inglis (No. 311) lost control on the last turn and took out himself Keith Gonyou (No. 84) and David Curtis (No. 47).
Inglis got up, pushed his bike across the line to finish 10th. Curtis followed suit and was 13th.
Not sure how Gonyou’s bike got so far up the track. He was being lapped by Inglis and Curtis at the time of the crash.
