Obviously a camera buff, Tripp Nobles had a big enough lead in the WERA Dunlop 750 Supersport final at Indianapolis Raceway Park in August of 1992, that he took the time to check out the gear photographers were using that day on the outside of IRP’s carousel turn. The race that day started with Utah’s Robert Wright, in a comeback after injury, leading early. Stevie Patterson and Nobles were in Wright’s draft. Just a few more bike lengths back came Ray Yoder, Tray Batey and Dean Hayes. In the later stages of the race Nobles took over the lead on the factory Muzzy Kawasaki ZX-7R with Patterson in tow. Yoder, Wright, Batey and Hayes dropped about four seconds back in the battle for third. Nobles gradually pulled away to a 2.43 second victory over Patterson at the flag. Wright’s comeback attempt came to a crashing end when, according to an angry Wright, he was hit from the rear by Hayes and went down. That left Yoder alone in third with Batey and Hayes rounding out the top five.

On second thought Tripp was probably checking out the babe in a bikini top in the stands behind the photographers.
