Jerry Washburn (381) and Richard Koenig (480) battle side by side in a WERA D Production Novice race through the carousel at Indianapolis Raceway Park in the mid-1980s. Both were riding Yamaha RZ350s. The RZ350 was the club racing motorcycle of choice in the mid-1980s hands down. No other motorcycle came close in terms of sheer numbers raced. Washburn held off Koenig to win this particular race.

Looks more like turn one. I don’t recall any pits or buildings outside the carousel.

Gordon, That’s where the pits were at IRP, outside the carousel – the broad right hander that turned you towards the final turn hairpen.
