Yesterday’s post of Chuck Graves racing Andrew Stroud in WERA Formula USA action was the 1000th post on The Rider Files. The site was launched in June of 2009 and I’ve watched in amazement as it’s grown to point that, according to my web host, the site is now reaching nearly 50,000 unique visitors per month!
Not bad for a site that’s just a little over year old.
To give you an idea of the growth of The Rider Files, the first full month of the site (July of 2009) it attracted 7400 unique visitors. It eclipsed 20,000 visitors per month in September of ’09 and reached 49,223 in May of this year.
That’s what you call rapid growth!
The last couple of months have leveled off at 46,000 visitors per. I started running news releases and the traffic actually went down slightly, so I’m still learning, tweaking and trying to figure out ways to keep people coming to the site for original content. So far this month of August the site is on a clip to easily go over 50,000 visitors for the first time and set yet another record.
I want to thank all readers of The Rider Files for making the site a big success in such a short time.
You may have noticed I’ve just included small advertisements on the site for the first time to help defray the cost of web hosting. I never want the ads to be obtrusive or detract readers in any way.
Thanks again to everyone for checking in to The Rider Files. I will continue to try to add interesting photos, stories and interviews from the heroes of motorcycle racing.
I also want to thank the other websites who have linked to The Rider Files and to those who have contributed photos to enrich the site. I’ve got some new and exciting plans for the site in the near future so visit back often.
If you have suggestions for the site please email me at: lawrencemedia@hotmail.com.
If you have any stories or photos to submit, please do so at the same email.
Sincerely
Larry Lawrence

As soon as I discovered your site it jumped into my top three. I hit you several times a day just hoping for another terrific post. Cycle News is at best a “once a weeker”. Congratulations on your rapid growth. Keep on keepin’ on! I see ads are showing up good for you!
