Rookie sensation 16 year old PJ Jacobsen from Montgomery, New York sits on top of the 2010 K&N Filters Grand National Championship presented by Motorcycle-Superstore.com Saddlemen Rookie of the Year points chase.

Jacobsen is a busy young man competing in selected AMA Pro K&N Filter Grand National Championship and the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL Road Race series.

In March Jacobsen was involved in a multiple bike incident during the start of the Daytona 200 at the Daytona International Speedway resulting in a mild concussion and a fractured left hand. Making a full recovery Jacobsen showed his flat track skills at the Springfield Mile on May 30th in his first Expert Twins race by winning his heat race and finishing a well respected 6th in the final at the world’s fastest mile dirt track. Following the race Jacobsen added, “This was the best race and the most fun of my life.”

Jacobsen has nineteen points and is sitting sixteenth in the overall Grand National Championship. Other riders competing for the Saddlemen Rookie of the Year bonus of $5,000.00 includes; Garret Wilson, Lucas Scherb, Chris Lodes, Cory Strickler, Karlin Weise, Evan Baer, Jeremy Higgins, and Kayl Kolkman.

In 2008 Jacobsen made history as the youngest American to ever ride a 125 MotoGP race (Indianapolis). Also raced in the 125GP Spanish CEV Championship and finished fifth in points, was the first American to ever podium in the 125GP Spanish CEV Championship. 2007 – Selected to the MotoGP Academy. 2006 – Began his Road Racing career full time with Celtic Racing in USGPRU, and was the AMA Pro Road Race 125GP Champion, USGPRU National Champion, and the Can-Am 125 GP Champion. 2005 – AMA Youth Rider and Dirt Track Rider of the Year. Early Career – First began racing at the age of three at local tracks on a PW50, has won over 30 National Flat Track Racing Championship Titles (Youth Program).
