I-96 Speedway is pleased to welcome riders, teams and fans of the AMA Pro K&N Filters Grand National Championship presented by Motorcycle-Superstore.com back to Lake Odessa, Mich., this Saturday, July 10, 2010. The event marks the 10th all time visit to I-96 Speedway.
Michigan rider “Hammerin” Henry Wiles, from Blanchard, riding a Harley Davidson, is tied for the point lead with Mica, Washington rider “Smokin” Joe Kopp who will be riding a Ducati.
Clio, Michigan rider “Jammin” Jared Mees is the defending champion of the series and will be aboard the #1 Harley-Davidson. Brian Smith, from Flushing Michigan will be another Michigan rider to keep an eye on, he will be riding the Werner-Springsteen Monster Energy Kawasaki.
Seven time Grand National champion Chris Carr will also be racing a Harley-Davidson XR750. Carr will be aboard the number 4 bike and is currently eighth in points. “I am looking forward to returning to I-96. That track suits my type of racing. Big wide ½ mile turns were we can really get the speed going”.
An international rider to keep an eye on is Luke Gough, from Hill Top, New South Wales, Australia. Gough will also be aboard a Harley-Davidson and looking forward to sold shot at his frist Grand National victory.
Former 3 time Grand National Champion and 3 time I-96 winner, Kenny Coolbeth from New Milford, CT is currently sixth in points. With his record many predict Coolbeth the man to beat as I-96 is one of his favorites tracks.
I-96 will be first opportunity for the 2009 top 10 Pro Singles riders to compete in the Twins National Championship class. Brad Baker, the 2009 Motorcycle-Superstore.com Pro Singles Champion will be riding the Global Products CR750 Harley-Davidson owned by Mark Cheza. Brad will be racing both the Pro Singles and Expert Twins classes for the first time this year.
There will be an autograph session in the paddock area at 5:00. All fans will be invited down to meet and greet the riders, and take a look at the bikes up close and personal.
Opening ceremonies at 7pm, with the first AMA Pro Motorcycle- Superstore .com Pro Singles heat at 7:30pm followed by the AMA Pro K&N filters GNC Twins.

I-96 Speedway is located off of interstate 96 at exit 64. Go south ½ mile, then west on Portland Road to the track.
