No, Larry, no one asked us to change our name. I’d raced with Team Wanker for several years, but wanted to take the team to the ‘next level’ in 1987. I had the full support of many of the original Wanker team members, & my friend & still a Yamaha employee, John Allison helped me come up with the name Genesis Racing.
Most everyone loved Team Wanker, & had a good laugh with it, but I knew it would be hard to get major sponsorship with that name. It was a good move for me.

I hated all those crazy namees and glad. Evelen cracked down that season..i remember Team hide your daughters and I has to ride the 24 hr with a team called Squirl bait…hated it
