Then Kawasaki racing director Gary Mathers (left) talks with motocross racer Tom Benolkin during what I think is the Mid-Ohio Trans-USA weekend in 1980. I believe this would have been Tom’s debut race with the factory Kawasaki squad. I don’t know what happened to him in the race though, since he’s not listed in the points-paying results.
