Denny Swartz (11) and Rex Staten (2) battle near the front in the second moto of the AMA 500cc Motocross National held at Atlanta International Raceway in May of 1979. Staten went on to finish second in the moto on his Yamaha to Danny LaPorte. Maico mounted Swartz finished third. Staten ended the day second overall (2-2) to LaPorte and Swartz was fourth (8-3).
