Check out this wild start shot from the Mid-Ohio Trans-USA in September of 1980! Jeff Ward (19) took a completely different line on his Kawasaki through the first turn, swinging out wide and then cutting back hard against the grain and directly in front of the oncoming pack which included Broc Glover (11), defending series champ Kent Howerton (1), Chuck Sun (63), Jim Gibson (29) and Mark Barnett (10).
