Jerry Griffith Works on Freddie Spencer’s Honda (1981)

Jerry Griffith works on Freddie Spencer’s factory Honda at the 1981 Houston AMA Grand National Doubleheader weekend. Jerry was perhaps the person most responsible for Honda getting into flat track racing in the mid-1980s. Jerry developed a Honda CX500-based flat tracker, which eventually won a Grand National at Louisville with Scott Pearson at the controls. Jerry then went on to help develop Honda’s legendary RS750 flat track machine. (Tom Mueller photo)
