Dave Emde leads Hugh Humble over the crest at the corner we old-timers call Madness at Mid-Ohio in May of 1983. Emde was en route that weekend to winning the AMA Formula Two National. During the main the track was wet to drying and Humble built a big lead before the track dried and he slid out on his rain tires. Emde had been playing it more conservatively and got by the recovering Humble to score victory. Humble got back on his bike and finished second.
