Start of one of the races at the 1984 Transatlantic Match Races at Donington Park. That year the Brits expanded its team to include the British Commonwealth, which allowed the addition of Australian Wayne Gardner and New Zealand’s Graeme Crosby to an already strong team that included Barry Sheene and Ron Haslam. It didn’t matter though because America brought over the motorcycle racing equivalent of the Dream Team. World Champion Freddie Spencer was joined by Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson, Randy Mamola, Mike Baldwin, Wayne Rainey, David Aldana and Wes Cooley! It was Randy Mamola, riding a Honda NS500, who led the American squad to a dominating victory (259-136).
