Legendary off-road racer Larry Bergquist on his way to yet another Hare & Hound victory circa 1966. I believe Larry is racing a BSA Hornet in this photo. Hornets were developed by BSA in 1964 as purpose built off-road and desert racer motorcycles in response to demand from the US market for a ‘stripped down’ BSA Lightning with more power. Known as the “Desert Fox” Larry was not only one of the all-time great desert racers, he was equally as known for helping to organize and run desert races.
