Joe Patton Winning at Dallas International Motor Speedway (1973)

Joe Patton corners what looks like a nearly bone stock Honda CB750 into a turn in a race at the short-lived Dallas International Motor Speedway. You might wonder how Joe got around with that heavy Honda with the stock single-disc front brake, well quite well thank you. Joe was one of the leading big-class road racers in Texas during the early 1970s. In ’72 Joe raced this Honda to victory at the famous Aqua Fest street race in Austin. He later upgraded to a CB900F-based Superbike and scored a handful of top-10 AMA Superbike finishes in the early 1980s. (Cycle News photo)
