Scott Zampach at the Milwaukee Mile Road Course (1988)

Oh wow, I’d almost forgotten about this race. How many remember the WERA North Central Region road race set up on a combined infield/oval course at the Milwaukee Mile? This is Scott Zampach racing in the event. The “Z-Man” was the big winner that weekend. I wish I’d used a wider angle lens to show more of the track. I do remember riders had to negotiate a narrow gate to go from the infield section out onto the oval. It was a crazy track and I don’t think WERA ever went back after that one race.
