Talk about grace under pressure! This is Scott Coutts in the process of crashing in the 1981 Las Vegas 400 desert race. Scott had the presence of mind to reach up as he was falling off to hit the kill switch on his Husqvarna. Isn’t that amazing! May have paid off too, because Scott picked himself off the deck and kept right on racing and he and teammate Daryl Folks still managed to finish runner up in their class. Now that’s a hardcore desert racing move by Scott right there. (Dale Brown photo)
