Team USA’s 1990 Motocross des Nations lineup (L to R): Damon Bradshaw, Jeff Stanton, team captain Roger DeCoster, and Jeff Ward after the team was announced at the Troy (Ohio) National in July of 1990. The trio was selected to chase an unprecedented 10th consecutive title at the 44th annual event in Vimmerby, Sweden. Bradshaw, 18, made his debut in the 125cc class, while Stanton, the 250cc National Champion, returned for his second appearance. Ward, a seven-time MXdN veteran and 500cc champ, served as team leader. Under DeCoster’s guidance, the Americans aimed to extend their dominance against rivals like Great Britain and Belgium. An FIM rule change ensured tighter competition, counting the best five of six moto finishes. Team USA ultimately did come through with the victory that year.
