Inside the second row are Pat Hennen (No. 40 Suzuki), Pat Evans (No. 51 Yamaha), and Patrick Pons (No. 135 Yamaha). Ceccotto, the 19-year-old Venezuelan sensation, would go on to win the race, marking a landmark victory in his rising career.
