Lee Shierts on the Gas in Formula USA Action (1997)

Lee Shierts (No. 58) leading a talented group of riders in the Formula USA race at Road Atlanta in June of 1997. Hot on the tail of Shierts’ Suzuki is Curtis Adams (No. 45 Honda), Chuck Graves (No. 34 Suzuki) and Doug Polen (No. 23 Suzuki). It was Graves who emerged from this group and moved ahead to finish on the podium in third. Shierts was 9th, Polen 11th and Adams had some issue and finished 23rd. (Henny Ray Abrams photo)
