British Bikes Fill the Front Row at Ascot Park (1967)

Dan Haaby (No. 22) gets the front wheel of his BSA in the air at the start of a heat race during the Ascot TT National in July of 1967. Another cool thing about this photo is the fact that all three major British brands of the day are on the front row. That’s Skip Van Leeuwen (No. 59) on his Triumph and next to him is one of the famous Norton Gang, Jack Simmons (No. 88) on his Norton. Also on the front row are Bruce Holland (behind Haaby) and Clyde Litch (No. 95X) on the only Harley on the front row. Van Leeuwen went on to win the national later that night.
