Quarterley Upholds the Honor of the Inline Four (1984)

Dale Quarterley (No. 32) on his Kawasaki GPz750 and Honda Interceptor mounted Doug Cameron (No. 65) go side by side through Daytona International Speedway’s West Horseshoe during the opening round of the 1984 AMA Superbike Championship. It was a race owned by the Honda factory with five out of the top six riders being factory or factory supported Honda riders. Quarterley finished 7th and interestingly was the only rider on an inline four inside the top 10. Cameron, a privateer out of Glendale Heights, Illinois, finished 35th. (Dale Brown photo)
