A great photo of the legendary Jerry Branch looking at some computer readings at his shop Branch Flowmetrics in 1989. Branch was “the” guru when it came to cylinder head air flow and Jerry had his hands in so many of the great racing engines over the years. He perhaps most famously produced the production heads for Harley-Davidson’ famous XR750 flat track machine. He also did a lot of work for Ducati and Kawasaki. Jerry even helped formulate the original AMA Superbike rulebook. When Brian Catterson took this photo, Jerry was doing head work on a Project 883 Harley race bike feature for Cycle News. Jerry, originally from Memphis, was also a great storyteller and had many great tales of his days of being a good friend of Elvis Presley.
