Mickey Fay on the Factory Honda at the Ascot TT National (1983)

Check out this spectacular image of Honda factory rider Mickey Fay (No. 13) at the 1983 Ascot TT National at Ascot Park in Gardena, California. Dirt is flying everywhere, Fay is on the gas getting his Honda sideways and he looks to be aiming for the little gap between the two riders in front of him (one of them being National Number 80 Rich King) all the while looking to hold off the other two riders, Brian Yocum (65Z) and Rod Sullivan (No. 39). Mickey did pretty well that night. He put it in the national main and finished fifth, just behind Randy Goss and just in front of Bubba Shobert. Not bad! (Mitch Friedman photo)
