Jack Johnson splashing through a creek crossing on his Maico 490 Mega 2, on his way to winning the Sunland Shamrocks M.C. Two-Day ISDE Qualifier in Red Moutain, California, in April of 1981. It was an exceptional performance for Johnson, who only a week earlier had to get 30 stitches on his left arm after crashing in the Las Vegas 400 desert race. Johnson’s victory marked the first ever Two-Day win by a Maico. My question is where were they able to find a creek in the high desert?
