In 1981 Mark Rivard was AAMRR’s top Kawasaki contingency money winner, racing a KZ750. But as this photo shows, in 1982 Rivard raced a Honda CB900F-based machine in AMA Superbike races. Here’s Mark at Pocono in ’82. What I find interesting is Mark has an RSC (factory) engine on his machine. Add a comment if you recall if RSC engines were available for anyone to buy, or if you had to have some sort of good racing resume to get a factory engine. (Paul Schwab photo)
Yes you could buy complete RSC kits from Honda back then.
